Documentary "Palianytsia" – Special Screening "Palianytsia" is not just a film, but an exploration of a phenomenon. It is an immersion in the consciousness of two American street artists, Bandit and Johnny, who have always viewed the world through the lens of their art. In their home country, their paint and images were an expression of freedom, a protest against the system. They thought they understood the world, but the war in Ukraine shatters that illusion. Their journey begins not as an act of heroism, but as an attempt to understand what is happening. Kyiv, Irpin, Butcha, Boroyanka, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, Odessa, Mykolaiv – these are not just cities, but experiences that demand awareness. Ukrainians, despite pain and loss, remain strong. Their resilience becomes a phenomenon impossible to ignore. Against the backdrop of this reality, the protagonists' art takes on new meaning. It no longer tries to provide answers. Instead, art becomes a method, a tool for posing questions. Questions that go beyond the ordinary: “What does it mean to be human in the midst of destruction?” or “How can you change yourself to find your true self?” “Palianytsia” in this film isn’t just a word. It’s an intention. It’s the intersection of subjective experience and objective reality. It becomes a symbol that demands reflection from every viewer: “Who am I? What am I worth? And whose side am I on?” This film isn’t about the external, but about the internal. It’s a phenomenological investigation in which the protagonists—through art, through confrontation with the strange and the incomprehensible—arrive at a simple truth: the only way to change the world is to change yourself. At the end, Bandit addresses the viewer: “Are you watching this film? Then you’ve already taken the first step. ‘What is palianytsia?’—that’s not a question, but a phenomenon that makes you discover yourself.” Production company: Aerosol Arsenal Films Director: Kadim Tarasov Producers: Kateryna Tymchenko, BANDIT, Ryan Smith
